2nd part of serie with Vanessa Barsetti story

Skiped the 1st part of the serie because Sapphire was TSTL, but Vanessa is her mother daughter and Pearl is one of my favorite character ever!

Vanessa is an independent woman, strong, resourceful and tough! Just a month after escape a kidnapping because of her brother dumb girlfriend (Sapphire), she is in the wrong place at the wrong time!
Fate brings her face to face with the son of her mother greatest ghost!!

Bones, like his father is a hard, cold man! Afters his father is murdered by Vanessa mother, he and is mother where let with nothing and his mother ends ups in prostitution to pay the bills, she was killed by a client and he blames the Barsetti family for his childhood in the streets!!!


Vanessa is one tough cookie in the first time they meet she managed to shoot him in the shoulder without hesitation!
Bones is confused with such strong beautiful woman and ends up using her family to blackmailing her into being his "sex toy" since their attraction and sexual chemistry is of the charts!!!

The story drags a bit in this book i was just hoping that something actually happen! The push/pull was to much and to little story development!!

The h was funny AF with sassy comebacks and strong personality!!! I laugh out loud in the middle of a waiting room full of people getting all sorts of crazy looks !!!

The H was a great surprise!!!

Totally safe book!! No OW drama, No cheating, no Manwhore H but a little to childish drama...

The H was so perfect... Sweet, so so sweet!

A misunderstanding got the h not answering the phone for 5 mouths but the H didn't give up (eye roll)!

For me the story was a little boring, h lacked confidence with friends and family!
H was borderline doormat!!

So this book came in a bad time....

After 2 books of Suzanne Wright super strong, complex and breath taking Vampires, this book got me in the wrong way!!!

In this book the supernatural divides in three major categories: Vampires (H); Blood Mages (h) and Werewolf's!!

Blood mages are the strongest of them all, with magic that can make blood boil with a flick of wrist!
Vampires founded a way to trap all of them with iron collars and think that werewolf where extinct!!!

4 years ago a alpha werewolf helped the h - Nina to escape the dungeons she's been living for the last fifteen years, she trains to be a hunter and with her powers she is one of the best!!!

In her new mission she needs to infiltrated the vampire court!!

H is the King of the Vampires and he struggling with it!

Its the 2nd time they meet and their are drone together...

But they are on opposite sides and things get nasty!

My problem in this book was the H has the King and the vampires it self!!!

The vampires is this books are all snobby, all pretentious and concern with decorum!

The King is like a teen, all moody and drama drama!! At some point h said to his face just to MAN UP and be the King he should be! He's always whinnying that he need her, can stand to be far from her and bla bla bla, i'm use to alpha male vampires so this one was a mood killer!!

The book ends in a cliffhanger but the next book is predictable so i really don't know if i will read it!
